2021 Global Migration Film Festival is Back with Hybrid Events
Jarkata – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announces the launch of the 6th Annual Global Migration Film Festival in Indonesia, with film screenings starting on December 13 and closing on December 18 to commemorate International Migrants Day.
This year, the Global Migration Film Festival will be screened in cities throughout Indonesia, including Tanjung Pinang, Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Surabaya, dan Makassar with 4 films forming part of the Official Selection.
In Jakarta, it will be held hybrid by online and on-site event at @America Jakarta on 16-17 December both at 15:00-18:00.
This Global Migration Film Festival features films and documentaries that capture the promise and challenges of migration for those who leave their homes in search of a better life.
Screening events will be followed by panel discussions open to the public through online platforms.
In the past years, IOM’s Global Migration Film Festival has offered screenings in over 100 countries, reaching audiences of up to 60,000 people annually. Films have been screened under the stars for migrants, as part of a 1,200 kilometer caravan through the desert, in refugee camps and migrant transit centers, as well as in libraries, universities and film clubs in cities large and small.
